We’ve been in this particular genre for as long as possible in Nollywood. You can remember the earliest romance movies in Nollywood.
With the Nollywood royally-obsessed romance genre, we are happy to see that we have slowly moved away from this and focused on more urban settings and storylines as the time has passed.
The romance genre can easily get boring when it gets repetitive but this is a diverse list of movies that have taken the romance genre and transcended it to more than what you have gotten bored with.
The infusion of societal values, current occurrences, religious, traditional, and health practices have made the genre a more relatable genre thus making the romantics believe that there is love out there for them.

- When Love Happens (2014):
Having parents who are in love can make you want that exact type of relationship but what happens if your great love has been around you all this while but you only thought of them as a friend? When love happens displays societal and peer pressures faced by women when they think they are at the point where they should be getting married.
