ADEBAYO SALAMI(OGA BELLO) MARKS 60 YEARS IN INDUSTRY WITH “HER EXCELLENCY”

Veteran Actor and Producer, Adebayo Salmi populary regarded as “Oga Bello” has marked a Diamond jubilee in the movie industry, and he marks this feat with a new production titled “Her Excellency”, the film is a remake of his earlier title, Agbara Obinrin, and aims to explore the power dynamics of women in leadership while also promoting values of mutual respect in relationships
Released in Nigerian cinemas on July 4, 2025, Her Excellency is a gripping political thriller set in the fictional Salim (or Oyo‑Ala) State. It centers on a formidable female leader whose clean public image starts to crack amid a murder investigation that threatens to expose buried secrets. The film is a political drama exploring themes of power, ambition, and the cost of leadership, featuring a star-studded cast including Sola Sobowale, Adebayo Salami, Bimbo Ademoye, Femi Adebayo, Yemi Solade, Odunlade Adekola, and a host of others.

The cinematography and fashion are standout features. Sobowale’s striking red lace agbada, royal beads, and power-gélé have already become iconic on social media. The film blends exquisite wardrobe design with visually cinematic frames—from dramatic palace interiors to charged public rallies.
At its core, Her Excellency is about ambition, generational conflict, female leadership, loyalty, and betrayal. It raises poignant questions: What price is paid for power? And how does society treat women in authority?

The film is directed by Adebayo Tijani and Tope Adebayo Salami, with production led by Oga Bello and his team at Oba Meta Studios.
While we praise a well done movie which had so much drama, it was however obvious to note grammatical errors, and this has always been a major Achilles heel for Yoruba actors who act English spoken movies.
