THE THERAPIST
1. “The Therapist” addresses culturally relevant concepts ranging from love, betrayal, deceit, marriage and law.
2. The movie does a good job in giving a voice to abused women in marriages.
3. The cinematography comes out fine.
1. There were some slightly irrelevant scenes
A great pick if you want something entertaining. Also an inspiration and voice for abused women.
A woman(Eloho Odafe) after losing everything in a divorce to her abusive ex-husband, penniless and desperate decides to help unhappy women seeking to divorce their abusive and unfaithful husbands. With the help and support of her friends, Gari and Dumebi, she opens a private agency that sets up the husbands of their clients and provides the women with the incriminating proof they need to win their divorce proceedings, however things would take a turn when a mysterious client would walk through their door with an irresistible offer.
An Edge Production distributed by Genesis pictures.
Kayode Kasum directs this one, he really seems to be one of the busiest Directors in the movie industry presently, with some massive releases, a worthy mention is the sizzling comedy “Ponzi” which he also directed. He directs this one, while Esse Odometa produces it.
Released in Cinemas on March 26, 2021, the movie does boasts of an impressive line-up of Nollywood’s finest acts with Rita Dominic taking the lead role while other stars such as Shaffy Bello, Michelle Dede,Chidi Mokeme, Anthony Monjaro, Toyin Abraham also star in it.
Well, not a storyline that cuts out of the blue, however, the writer was able to successfully pass the content of the plot. Though, some scenes seemed needless, the Director still does a good job in delivering some class.
Star Act: Michelle Dede
All actors in this in one way or the other did justice to their respective roles, however a particular act stands out, I think Michelle Dede really does absolutely fabulous in this. Her character was real, she delivered her role most impeccably.
Can do better performer- Nil
They all did well.
