CITATION

Citation is a 2020 Nigerian film that portrays a student who speaks out after a university professor attempts to rape her, and the reaction of the university to her claims. Inspired by true events, a movie which chronicles the ordeals almost every young girl caught in the web of sexual predators in guise of Lecturers face. It starts with an intelligent young post graduate student who on her journey of academic preeminence is lured in the web of a randy professor who came in guise of a caring lecturer. This student would later be a voice for the numerous girls who are scared to speak against sexual abuse they face with these lecturers, hence becoming the face of a voice against sexual abuse. You should see this movie, it contains the details of the ordeals young girls face in the hands of randy lecturers and most often times the modus operandi of these sexual predators.

A movie of this calibre already scores high on the content. In a time where many sexual scandals have ravaged our universities, this couldn’t have come less timely. I believe with this, many young girls who have been victims of sexual abuse or attempted rape can be bold to come out and speak out against these randy lecturers.

The acting was decent. Ohh!, 😎  was that a debut role for Temi Otedola. In my opinion, she did incredibly well, honestly far more than I expected. She should consider a career in acting. The acting from the cast was decent. They all did well. Good stuff!

A Kunle Afolayan movie already has a standard it sets for itself even before being viewed. Personally, I think Kunle Afolayan has constantly lived up to his benchmark of constant delivery of content.  I would say this is a movie with content and relevance. It comes at just the right time. Should have come sooner.

A movie with major scenes shot in OAU(Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile-Ife, Nigeria.
